Somewhere over the Rainbow

« back

It’s the end of an era at Rainbow’s End tomorrow as the iconic rainbow, which has watched over hundreds of thousands of visitors at the entrance to Rainbow’s End, is on the move.

After 30 years the rainbow will be lifted by a specialist crane before setting off on a road trip around New Zealand.

The Rainbow’s End Rainbow Road Trip will take off on 14th September and will travel up to Whangarei and down to Taupo. A competition will also be launched to find a suitable forever home for the rainbow.

The rainbow will be removed at 11am on Thursday 13 August. A new, state of the artentrance way will be unveiled later this year.
